Two Supervising Call Centre Operators attended a coaching workshop to develop their specific skills. In a very relaxed environment any particular issues that arose through discussion were well covered.

Victorian Electoral Commission - Behavioural Interviewing

Four ONE DAY training programs on behavioural interviewing techniques were recently conducted for managers, team leaders and staff of the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC). Full participation by everyone ensured that those who were familiar with behavioural interviewing techniques learnt a lot more and those who hadn't experienced the technique previously, gained much insight from a program that develops the skills of planning, preparing, conducting and assessing a behavioural interview as a panel member; gathering information that is valid and reliable; applying the principles of merit and equity.

Building Commission & Plumbing Industry Commission - Talking About Our Values

It was a highly satisfying experience for PRIORITY ONE TRAINING to design and deliver eleven (11) X three (3) hour workshops to introduce the Commissions values and their related behaviours to all managers and employees. The Commissions, as of April 2008, share a set of five organisational values. Participants played roles, discussed scenarios and completed case studies to demonstrate the 'how of what we do' at the Commissions - activities were highly tailored and high interaction created a sense of fun.

Museum Victoria - Behavioural Interviewing Skills

A ONE DAY training program on behavioural interviewing techniques saw participants enthusiastically interacting to build on their existing interview skills and experience. Behavioural interviewing was introduced as a means of predicting future behaviours based on past behaviour. Managers wrote behaviourally based questions and practised asking questions and evaluating responses to establish a consistency in rating interviewees against a set of established criteria. Common issues often needing to be addressed in panel interviews were discussed and resolved.

Environmental Protection Authority Victoria - Leading The Way

A three (3) day leadership program was specifically developed and delivered for 15 EPA managers. The program was designed to be highly interactive and gave much opportunity for practical application. The structure was by design flexible to the needs of the participants who had differing levels of experience and prior leadership training. The topics covered were essential to good leadership and specific EPA scenarios and participant examples accommodated a range of learning needs. The program was delivered as 2 consecutive days with a month in between the 2nd and 3rd days , giving managers an opportunity to review their learning, practise their skills and apply their MBTI Type to their interactions with team members. Fun was generated in a highly supportive environment.

Giving Constructive Feedback was tailored and delivered as a five-hour program to twelve managers of Jack Morton WorldWide, Sydney. PRIORITY ONE TRAINING had been referred to Jack Morton WorldWide by one of our very satisfied clients.

A highly stimulating training session saw all managers practising and rehearsing the skills and working through issues they had previously experienced in giving feedback. The Victorian Managed Insurance Authority - Employee Essentials

Employee Essentials was specifically developed to deliver compliance training to the managers and staff of The Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA), a Victorian statutory authority reporting to the Department of Treasury and Finance, Victoria, Australia.

PRIORITY ONE TRAINING compiled a training manual including the key compliance obligations under a range of legislation and guidelines in a highly attractive and interactive style. The eight, three-hour, highly interactive training workshops clearly emphasised the responsibilities of managers and staff and linked the expected behaviours to the VMIA values and the values of the Public Sector Code of Conduct (Public Administration Act 2004, Victoria, Australia).

A stimulating one day program, enthusiastically embraced by the VicRoads

The 2006 series of programs to deliver the skills and behaviours to implement VicRoads six Values (Public Administration Act 2004) continues to be highly successful. The booklet 'Leading the Way' (edition 2003 co-authored by Judy Newgreen, Director, PRIORITY ONE TRAINING with the Office of Public Employment) is being used as a valuable training guide and resource. Managers and Supervisors learn of their legislative responsibilities and gain highly practical skills to demonstrate and promote VicRoads Values.

CFA volunteers 'Junior Leaders' from rural and country Victorian Brigades enjoyed the ambience of the Novotel St Kilda as they enhanced their presentations skills

Three 'two day' programs were conducted for three groups of volunteers over three weekends

Each CFA volunteer was provided with a future resource workbook and a video of their personal presentations

The formal presentations are assessed in accordance with the Australian Fire Competency(AFC) Standard 3.11 Public Speaking

DE&T - Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI® ) administration

Two three hour sessions were conducted for a Division of the Department of Education & Training (DE&T, Victoria)

DE&T Divisional team members completed the self-correcting FORM M questionnaire and participated in reflection on TYPE and how it can be used as a tool for team development. Communication and self-management were presented as highly valuable personal skills for effective team membership.

Country Fire Authority -Winning Presentations -The Edge
the exhilarating two day practical program for the Victorian Country Fire Authority

CFA team members from finance, public affairs, human resources, community safety, building & property, contracting & procurement, and regions 7 & 8 certainly grabbed attention and maintained the interest of their audience with their formal presentations

The 'doing it the right way' program for Department of Innovation Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD,Victoria)

Participants explored 'difficult maybe different' and focussed on better ways to manage situations that they have faced in the past. Fun was generated with participants allowing their minds to take them to their favourite place of relaxation and calm, as a skill for self-control and self-management.

A group of highly engaged participants discussed and rehearsed ways of resolving conflicts they are faced with in their professional and personal lives. They discovered that planning and consideration of the 'what if's' is crucial to better conflict management.

AMCA 2005 Managing for Profit Program - Managing Yourself

The 'Managing Yourself' workshop for the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractor's Association of Australian Limited

Managers from all States of Australia represented a range of companies in this week long conference at the Hemisphere Conference Centre in Moorabbin, Victoria.

The afternoon workshop promoted the sharing of ideas and the practising of skills and techniques through a variety of fun activities. Group role-plays were approached very enthusiastically, everyone was engaged and humour was certainly demonstrated as a strategy for self-control and self-management.

PRIORITY ONE TRAINING has added another large Victorian State Government Department, and a further three Local Councils, to their list of clients.

A Winning Partnership


PRIORITY ONE TRAINING and Matthew Braden Design win a tender to work with The Office of Public Employment (OPE), Victoria, Australia to produce a booklet 'Leading the Way' A Development Guide for Managers and Supervisors covering the practical application of the 8 Conduct and Employment Principles of the Victorian Public Sector Management and Employment Act 1998 (PSMEA).

Judy Newgreen, Director, PRIORITY ONE TRAINING, worked with OPE to structure, write and design the content, and tailor specific engaging and fun activities for continuous self-assessment to guide managers and supervisors through an integrated management development journey.

Judy wrote a specifically tailored on-line training program for introducing the booklet and/or as a personal training program. 'Leading the Way' has been embraced by a wide range of Victorian public sector organisations.

People Management - Directors and Managers

In liaison with the Department of Treasury & Finance (DTF), PRIORITY ONE TRAINING developed , designed and is delivering a ONE day People Management Workshop for Management Induction. A manual with practical 'how to' tips supports a highly interactive and practical program for further leadership skill development and day-to-day demonstration of the organisational Behaviours. The program forms Day 2 of the Management Induction program - a follow-up to Day 1, conducted by PRIORITY ONE TRAINING since 2003, which outlines Management responsibilities that are underpinned by State Legislation.
